ABOUT US

THE TEN YEAR JOURNEY
2025 is a special year for Kielder; starting out in 2015, with our 1st Generation Compact Impact Wrench, we now have 10 years on the clock and have evolved to our 3rd Generation, plus a wide range of interchangeable cordless equipment, hand tools and accessories.

We are extremely proud of our journey, so far, and remain as passionate and driven as we were 10 years ago. Our primary focus has always been the product; aiming to delver affordable, professional quality kit with the latest technology. Rest assured there will be plenty more exciting developments and product additions, as we set the sat nav for 20 years! Thank you to our customers (The Kielder Works Team) for coming along on the ride, it is very much appreciated.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
The Kielder story truly started in club-level rallying. Needing an Impact Wrench to prepare and service our Mitsubishi Evo VI, we got to work on selecting the right one. The criteria? It had to be short, lightweight and powerful but, most importantly, affordable on a tight budget. After much research, there just didn't seem to be one out there that ticked all of these boxes. So with over 20 years of experience in tool development, the cogs started turning... if what we required wasn't available, could we do it ourselves?

THE NAME
Named after the location of a ‘very special’ stage from British Rallying, a place which provokes incredible memories and emotions of following the RAC during the late 80’s and 90’s. The feeling of both trepidation and excitement as the crews headed into Kielder mid-way through the event to tackle not least the fearsome Pundershaw. A stage that was almost 60 kms long when run at full distance, and knowing only too well the potential effects that it could have on the whole event - magnificent!

OUR TIME
It was during the 80’s and 90’s that we fell in love with motorsport, this was our time: The excitement of a World Rally Championship finding its feet again under Group A and then WRC regulations, being contested by the likes of McRae, Makinen, Burns, Auriol, Sainz, Kankkunen and all doing battle for factory teams. Not to mention the 500cc World Championship, British Touring Car Championship, Group C Sportscar Racing, British Rally Championship, to name a few...This was our time and we were hooked!

AND YOURS
Best of all we know that these feelings have been, and continue to be experienced by countless others, repeated year after year, decade after decade. Where something has made a lasting impression, resulting in a genuine passion for mechanics and engineering, not just motorsport and we love it! Today the thrill is truly ours to be supplying a small portion of the equipment needed to keep the wheels of progress turning, whatever the task in hand.

WE'RE USERS AS WELL
The origins of our products are simple; drawing on decades of combined experience gained from developing tools for some of the leading brands, we’re now creating tools for our own use and like minded individuals. We’re a hands on bunch and, like you, have a definite requirement for well specified, reliable tools which feel good and get the job done, but crucially at a price we can all afford. We hope you agree and enjoy our products as much as we do.
